Dr Bryan Hale
DC, MNZCA, Developer of the Hale Technique Applied Kinesiology, Chiropractor
Having recently retired in May 2024 at 75, Dr Bryan Hale continues to be as passionate as ever about further developing the Hale Technique. Although no longer actively treating patients, Bryan is a very hands-on Mentor to the Practitioners at Integrated Health Care, in addition to teaching Workshops and sharing his incredible knowledge and skill.
He has published his first book ‘Reflections on Health’ about the Hale technique. It explains the foundations of why we work the way we do and why it is important to address all aspects of a person's health to achieve the best outcomes - Physically, Mentally, Emotionally, Musculoskeltally and taking into account their individual personality (Spiritually). The book is available at Integrated Health Care, www.integratedhealthcare.co.nz.
He is working on another book to be published in the not too distant future now that he has a bit more time!
You will still see him around Integrated Health Care, but he will also be spending a lot more time in his beloved Wanaka and being the most incredible Poppa to his grandchildren.

Bachelor of Science (Psychology) Canterbury, Bachelor of Applied Science Honours (Chiropractic) Melbourne, Specialising in the Hale Technique and Applied Kinesiology, Chiropractor, MNZCA
I have lived and breathed the Hale Technique since day dot being Bryan’s daughter and worked at Integrated Health Care for 25 years. How we work aligns strongly with my philosophy of addressing each person’s health and wellbeing on an individual level. There is no doubt that stress impacts our Physical function as well as Mental and Emotional wellbeing. Therefore we must address the CAUSE of complaints to also gain symptomatic relief and FEEL better on all levels
I really love all aspects of practice and working with various ages, but my passion these days is being able to help people feel and function their best in a very busy and at times overwhelming world
I divide my time between work and family - with three very busy teenagers and a lifestyle block in the Selwyn District
I am at Integrated Health Care Monday to Thursday.
DR Sophie Pepperell
Bachelor of Chiropractic (BChiro), Specialising in the Hale Technique, Chiropractor, MNZCA
I started my professional career in Auckland, working as a structural practitioner, however growing up with an integrative approach to health, I always knew I would take the time to go beyond the physical, and help people with their mental and emotional wellbeing too. I understood at the start of my career, the mind is involved in all aspects of health.
I was drawn to the Hale Technique early on, coming across Bryan’s book, Reflections on Health while still a student. Years passed and eventually life drew me back to Bryan’s work, undertaking seminars in the Hale Technique. It was with great pleasure that in 2023 I was asked to join the Integrative Health Care team, making the move from Auckland to Canterbury. I had the honour of being trained by Bryan and feel very lucky to continue to learn from him.
I have a particular interest in working with teenagers and children, but most of all I love caring for entire families. I know first hand the impact stressed parents have on the whole family, if parents are well, children are inherently better off.
Outside of work I love being part of a running club and train year-round for half marathons.
I am at Integrated Health Care Monday to Friday.

My Chiropractic and natural health care journey began at Integrated Health Care over 20 years ago. I’ve had the privilege of serving patients through various stages of my life and theirs.
My family and I chose to leave Christchurch during the challenging Christchurch earthquakes and go back to my roots in Auckland. While I thrived there, a part of me always longed for the Christchurch community. I’m excited to be back, collaborating with the exceptional team at IHC once again.
I believe in the intricate connection between the mind and body and my passion lies in empowering individuals of all ages to achieve optimal Physical and Mental well-being
Outside of the clinic, I enjoy the thrill of snow sports and am eager to explore new hobbies in Christchurch.
I am really excited to be back at Integrated Health Care, Monday to Friday.
Anne OSMERS
Integrated Health Care Practice Manager
This is my 40th year at Integrated Health Care, starting out setting up the practice with Bryan in 1984. I have witnessed the incredible advancement in the technique and love observing how patients develop and move through various challenges in their lives as they feel better and feel more able to take control in their decision making and lives in general
I still feel as passionately about the Hale Technique and the service we provide as I did in my early days. I love working with our patients and the practitioners alike at Integrated Health Care. My husband and I attribute our good health and well being to the Hale Technique and I have witnessed first hand the same in the generations of patients we have treated over the years.
My youngest son Max has been inspired to develop skills in the area of wellbeing and is in his second year studying Osteopathy.
I thoroughly enjoy working in such a supportive and inspiring environment.
Outside of work I love spending time with my husband, 3 adult children and new wee granddaughter, as well as things that support my wellbeing like yoga, cooking and time with friends
I am at the office Monday - Wednesday.
Raewyn Mitchell
Integrated Health Care Receptionist
I have also experienced the Hale technique and its benefits first hand being a patient for 40+ years. It has been a crucial part of my healthcare and support Physically and Mentally over the many challenges life can throw at us!
I love working here 2 days a week as well as in my own business as a life coach.
Outside of work I love spending time with my own children, partner and our Daschund Daphne
Nicola Crowe
Integrated Health Care Receptionist
I jumped at the opportunity of working at Integrated Health Care as a receptionist after my family and myself being patients here for 30 years. Besides the benefits that we have realised being patients, I loved the environment I always experienced when waiting for my appointment and the care and concern the practitioners and support staff showed me on the phone and in the office, so am enjoying the opportunity to give back.
Outside of work at Integrated Health Care I work part time as a Primary School Teacher 2 days a week. I enjoy walking and time with my husband and 4 children. I am delighted and not surprised that one of my children are following this path by studying Osteopathy after the benefits they have received over their entire lifetime of treatment and support here.
I work Wednesday to Friday.
